This beautiful instrument is made with natural air-dried sound boards. The top and bottom sound boards are both made by a single piece of paulownia that has been air dried for at least a year. The frame is made by rosewood inlaid with mother-of-pearl.

The making is supervised by the Gold Medal Award winner, Mr. Wang Jianchun of the Tianyi Factory. Mr. Wang Jianchun's instruments are the favorites among professional guzheng players for their fullness of sound and versatility.
